Disadvantages of colored contact lenses

Color which is used in these types of colored contact lenses is actually a chemical substance which can be gradually released and can cause that the eyes redden or in worse case it triggers allergic reactions. Staying in darker environment leads to the dilatation of the pupil which results in the perception of colored whorl of contact lens. Therefore they are completely unsuitable for driving a motor vehicle during decreased visibility. This negative phenomenon is less disturbing in accent contact lenses and more distinct in decorative contact lenses and very distinct in “crazy” contact lenses.

Colored contact lenses cannot be used by everyone because if one has a stronger diopter or astigmatism there is not such a wide variety at the disposal as in the case of transparent contact lenses. Incurvation and diameter of your cornea can also play a role because this range of production is limited as well.

It is necessary to point out that colored contact lenses cannot overlay every eye color and the result always depends on your natural eye color. In the cases of people who have very dark eyes contact lenses do not have almost any effect on the change of eye color and then the result can look rather comically.

In standard conditions the pupil dilates in the ratio depending on the intensity of incident light and in the case of colored contact lenses the middle part is surrounded by distinct colored whorl which does not transmit the light. Then the pupil seems to be tied, limited in its ability to adapt to the intensity of incident light.
